
「Dim Sum – Delight your heart」Stir-fried Steamed Radish Cake – 「點心 – 點亮你的心」港式蘿蔔糕
Ingredients:
- Radish ~700g
- Rice flour 500g(1 pack)
- Bacon 125g
- Shiitake Mushroom(dry) 50g
- Dried (small )shrimps 50g
- Fried onions 50g
- white pepper (adequate)
Seasoning Rice flour
Procedure:
- Chop the whole radish. Better to use a mixer to save your effort. Add adequate amount of white pepper and salt.
- Mix the rice flour (1 pack) with ~1000g water. (It turns out to still be fluid.)
- Fried all seasoning items with hot oil until you smell “Wok-Hay”(鑊氣)
- Add the chopped radish to the prepared seasonings and fried it until it turns 50% opaque.
- Pour the rice water and cook it with gentle heat until it feels like mudslide.
- Put it in a form and steam it 50 mins. (I tried to put it in an oven under 180 degrees in Celsius. It works as well.)
- Make it cool down and put it in the refrigerator for 1 night
- Slice it to 1.5~2cm in thickness and fried it to the “wonderful golden”

Remarks:
- It is typical to serve this dish with soy sauce jam. For people who loves spicy food, now is the correct timing to use Jamie Oliver’s chili jam. I have a better alternative: teriyaki sauce
- This dish is not regarded as a typical Taiwanese dish but a famous Cantonese Dim-Sum(點心/点心)
